  • Does your organization do drug testing?

No. Drug Free America Foundation is a drug prevention organization. We further our cause through education, training, partnerships and drug free workplaces programs.

  • Is your organization affiliated with the D.A.R.E. program or Partnership for a Drug-Free America?

No. We are joined by the same cause, but are not affiliated in any way.

  • Does your organization lobby?

Drug Free America Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization, not a lobbying entity.

  • Is your organization supported by government grants or privately funded?

Drug Free America Foundation was founded by Ambassador and Mrs. Mel Sembler through private means and now performs special projects, drug abuse education and prevention and drug free workplace programs through tax-deductible contributions as well as federal grants and contracts.

Drug Free America Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and welcomes public contributions. You may send your tax-deductible donation to the address listed above, or call our office for other methods of contribution. We appreciate your support of our efforts.

  • How do I request information about drug free workplace programs? Is there a charge for the program?

You can contact Drug Free America Foundation, Inc. for more information on drug free workplaces. The foundation has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration that enables us to assist small businesses in the Tampa Bay area in setting up drug free workplace programs, at no cost to employers. Drug Free America Foundation has titled this project Drug Free Work Places of Tampa Bay.

  • Is drug free workplace training provided?

A Drug Free Workplace grant, through Drug Free America Foundation, Inc. allows for supervisor training, employee training and parent education at no cost to employers.

  • What are the benefits to making my small business a drug free workplace?

Some of the benefits of having a drug free workplace are reductions in absenteeism, tardiness and employee turnover, fewer accidents and injuries, reduced workers' compensation insurance premiums, as well as an improved public image and customer satisfaction.

  • How do I request drug abuse education and prevention resource materials? Is there a charge for the materials? What types of materials does your organization offer (books, pamphlets, videos)?

The OrderProducts section of our Web site houses a complete list of products and materials we offer. You can browse and request pamphlets, posters, videos and other educational resource materials all in one place.

  • I am researching a specific topic (Schedule I drug, addiction, etc.). Does your organization offer information, direction or advice on request? If so, how do I go about making the request?

We are happy to assist you with resources, suggestions and research help. We have a librarian and researcher on staff. Please send your inquiry to questions@dfaf.org.

  • Does your organization have a mission statement?

Drug Free America Foundation, Inc. is a drug prevention organization committed to developing, promoting and sustaining global strategies, policies and laws that will reduce illegal drug use, drug addiction, drug-related injury and death.

Drug legalization and permissive drug policies will lead to a greater availability of dangerous drugs in our communities and undermine each nation's commitment to law enforcement, health care, education, commerce and the family. Accordingly, Drug Free America Foundation commits to the following objectives:

  • Opposing efforts that would legalize, decriminalize or promote illicit drugs or promote illicit drug use.
  • Encouraging citizens of all nations to strive for drug-free homes, schools, workplaces and communities.
  • Advocating abstinence-based drug education in our schools and teaching our children healthy alternatives to drug use.
  • Educating employers about the dangers of illicit drug use in the workplace and the important role of drug-free workplace programs.
  • Supporting law enforcement and drug interdiction efforts.
  • Promoting cooperation between national and international leaders and governments to develop and implement polices and laws that will reduce drug use and abuse.
  • Improving global communication between scientists, researchers and physicians to advance our knowledge of drug abuse, addiction and treatment. o Sharing our knowledge, resources and experience with others working to prevent or eliminate illicit drug use.
